HistoryNamed "Tolavana" by the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1903. A postmaster was appointed the same year and the post office was tentatively called Hootana , but when the post office was finally established the following year, it was given the name "Tolovana," for the stream. The post office was discontinued in 1957 (Ricks, 1965, p. 66).
