HistoryEskimo village consisting of two huts, visited by Nelson (1882, v. 4, p. 665), U.S. Signal Service, in December 1878. He calls it "Igiagamute" on his map and "Igragamiut" in his text.The name, variously written "Ikiak," "Igiagagamute," etc., has been applied to places extending from Kokechik Bay to the east end of the Askinuk Mountains.
