From Anchorage take the Seward Highway out the Kenai Peninsula. Follow the road towards Homer where it become the Sterling Highway, soon after the split is Cooper Landing. From Cooper Landing head down Bean Creek Road (towards the Kenai Princess Lodge), take a right up Slaughter Ridge Road and go as far as you feel you can drive but don't park blocking the road/trail.
Bean Creek Trail is a less maintained trail, lumpy bumpy with trip roots, that meets up with the Resurrection Pass National Recreation Trail after approximately two miles.
The highlight of the trail is that it adjoins the Resurrection Pass Trail and cuts a couple miles off that hike.
Naming: it's named after Bean Creek which it follows which was a local name recorded in 1951.
