HistoryLieutenant H. T. Allen, USA, named a stream west of the Delta River, "Delta Creek." Its exact identity, has been a problem to map makers. This particular Lieutenant Allen's name. See Little Delta River. Its Idian name was "Mahutzu" according to A. H. Brooks, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in 1898.
