HistoryMining camp established about 1907. A post office named "McKinley" existed here in 1908-09, and in 1910 R. H. Sargent reported the camp name as "Valdez Creek." In 1922 a post office was again established, but this time it was named "Denali", the Indian name for Mount McKinley. Its 1940 population was 63.
