HistoryEskimo name reported in 1900 as "Youunglik River" and published in 1902 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) Chart 9380. "Eureka Creek" was reported in 1909 by Smith and Eakin (19118 pl. 1), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
