HistoryLocal name published by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1890. Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 3) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), calls the stream "Alyagnagik" and Captain Tebenkof (1852, map 2), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), shows "Aleknagek," both obviously referring to the same Eskimo name.
