In Philip Smith Mts., flows W to the Sagavanirktok River, S of Kakuktukruich Bluff, 13 mi NW of Elusive Lake, Brooks Range

History

So named by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists in 1951, "because one of the geologists named Don had a rib injury." The Eskimo name for this stream is "Shukukpaukat" which refers to the "high, steep, sharp mountains" that bound it.
