Eskimo name attributed to Stefansson by Leffingwell (1919, p. 97). Reported as an outlet of Teshekpuk Lake, this feature is probably the same stream shown on Maguire's chart (Great Britian, 1854, facing p. 186) chart as "R. Miguakiak" (see Miguakiak River).
