History

Eskimo name spelled "Kue-che-ark" by Lieutenant Stoney (1900, map), U.S. Navy (USN), and applied by him to a stream to the east of this one. W. C. Mendenhall, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), reported the above spelling and application in 1901.
