History of Johnson River

Named by Lieutenant Allen (1887, p. 82), USA, for Peder Johnson, Swedish miner and member of his party. Allen spells the given name "Peter" in his text, but in a letter Board on Geographic Names (BGN) in 1896 it was spelled "Peder."
