HistoryNamed by prospectors; reported in 1904 by L. M. Prindle, (in Brooks and others, 1905, fig. 6), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The name, as used by miners, probably applied to an old stream channel now located across the ridge, but cartographi c usage applies it to the whole ridge.
