History

Urssian name, meaning "Paul" or "Saint Paul," published as "Pavlovskoi Volcan" by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 269), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN); published as "Pavlovskaya Sopka" on a Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1847. cPavlov Volcano (smoking)" is shown on an 1890 U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) chart.
