HistoryEskimo name published in 1836 by F. P. Lutke. Ensign Vasiliev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), reported the lake name to be "Akulogak" in 1831. Ivan Petroff named it "Lake Walker" for Francis A. Walker, Superintendent of the 1880 census.
