History

Local name published by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1929. The Eskimo name "Chu-du-lung" was used in 1910 by H.C. Fasset, U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF), and is reported to mean "a lot of trout."
