The easiest way to get there in summer is an air taxi in Talkeetna.
In winter it is possible to snowmachine out to Bulchitna Lake.
9 mi. SE of Skwentna and 59 mi. N of Tyonek, Cook Inlet Low. 1.2 miles long.
Bulchitna Lake is located between Lake Creek and Yentna River near where the merge, just southeast of Skwentna.
There is a landing strip to the west of the lake, while the lake itself is big enough for most bush planes to land on. There are several cabins along the lake.
Sockeye, coho, king, pink, and chum salmon spawn up Lake Creek, along the east edge of Bulchitna Lake. Burbot, trout and grayling are also found in the lake. The best time for fishing salmon in the area is early June to early July, and again towards the end of August.
Moose, black bear, and brown bear are found in the area, with brown bear being more likely to encounter.
There are campsites at nearby Chelatna Lake.
