History of Ushagat Island

Aleut (?) name published by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 5), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "O(strov) Ushagat," or "Ushagat Island," and as "O(strov) Ugushtu," or Ugushtu Island," (map 22). The feature was called Ushugat Island by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1868.
