History of Leffingwell Glacier

Named for Ernest de Koven Leffingwell who for several years, between 1906 and 1914, explored and studied the geology and geography of northeast Alaska, culminating with his report on "The Canning River Region." The name "Leffingwell Glacier" was published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) open File Report 810, 1965, by E. G. Sable.
