About

Heads about 5902N13750W, trends west to 1961 terminus 2 miles southeast of mouth of Clear Creek in Gulf of Alaska and 68 miles southeast of Yakutat, St Elias Mountains. 11 miles long.

History

La Perouse called this glacier Le Grand Plateau in 1786 and Dall (1875, pl. 21), U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), called it the Grand Plateau Glacier. This latter name was published in the 1883 Coast pilot (p. 205). (AK-T1)
