March 7, 2021 - Flying Fatality at Chugach Mountains

Chugach Mountains, Knik Glacier,

Pilot Zachary Russell, 33 of Anchorage; guides Greg Harms, 52, of Colorado, and Sean McManamy, 38, of Girdwood; and passengers Benjamin Larochaix, 50, and Petr Kellner, 56, both of the Czech Republic. Larochaix may have been from France, died while out heliskiing when their helicopter, an Airbus AS350B3, flew into the side of an unnamed 6,000ft peak, roughly 10-15 feet below the ridge. The peak faces south to Knik Glacier and lies between Metal Creek (to the west) and Grasshopper Valley (to the east).

David Horváth survived the crash.
