Named "Kamennoy" meaning "rocky" in 1821 by Kromchenko (complete name not available), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). It was called "Point Fergusson on the 1900 "Map of Nome Peninsula" by J. M. Davidson and B. D. Blakeslee.
