History

this is a transliteration published in 1865 on British Admiralty (Brit. Adm.) Chart 2431 from the Russian "M(ys) Bazan," meaning "Cape Bazan." name was published by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 9), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), who derived it from Port Bazan.
