Aleut name published by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 22), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "M(ys) Uyak" or "Cape Uyak." This feature was called "West Point" by Captain Lisianski (1814, map, p. 169), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), and Baker (1906, p. 656) reports "Locally called 'Sevenmile point'* * *."
