HistoryThis feature was named "Cape Sajaga" by the North Pacific Exploring Expedition of 1855. Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 28), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), called it "M(ys) N.W.," or "Northwest Cape." The adopted form was published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1944 Aleutian Coast Pilot (p. 117).
