History of Hoggatt Bay

Named in 1895 by Lieutenant Commander E. K. Moore, U.S. Navy (USN), for Ensign Wilford Bacon Hoggatt, 1865-1938, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party. Hoggatt was Governor of Alaska from 1906 to 1909.
