P Andrew Lekisch

Born: March 7, 1972

Andrew Lekisch was born in Anchorage. He was an honor student and excelled at cross-country skiing, running, biking, tennis, swimming and basketball. As a West freshman, he won varsity letters in cross-country running, cross-country skiing, an academic letter, and was elected to the student council. In 1983, he was a representative to the Jesse Owens Games in Los Angeles. He enjoyed competing in local foot and bicycle races, triathlons and other athletic competitions. He was a member of the Nordic SKi Club and the Arctic Bicycle Club. The Lekisch Trail in Anchorage is named after him.
