Harbour porpoises are one of the smallest species of cetacea usually measuring under 6 feet in length. Females are larger weighing up to 170lbs while males are typically around 130lbs. They are dark gray with light bellies.
They have chambered stomachs like ungulates. Their bodies handle the bones of their prey by regurgitating them.
In Alaska harbour porpoises range from the Bering Sea all the way through Southeast Alaska and much further south.
