Description
The Green Darner (Anax junius), is one of the largest dragonflies existent, they can grow up to 3 inches in length and just over 3 inches in wingspan. The Darner is a reference to it's body resembling a darning needle.

Diet & Habitat
Green Darner nymphs feed on insects, tadpoles, and small fish while adults hunt in flight eating moths, mosquitos, and flies. Though they have been spotted eating honeybees.
Green Darner prefer stagnant or slow moving fresh water large amounts of aquatic vegetation. They have been spotted as far north as Eagle, AK.
