April 30, 1898 - Hiking Fatality at Valdez Glacier
They were Jos. Furner of Chicago, B. Antwerp of Minneapolis, and A. Johnson of Eureka, California. Died in avalanches while traveling up Valdez Glacier. There was report that four more people were missing but it could not be confirmed.
