April 1, 2015 - Skiing Fatality at Tebay Lakes
Peter “Pi” Inglis, 55, an AMGA certified ski guide of Telluride, Colorado, died when a cornice gave way beneath him at around 7,000ft near Tebay Lake. Our guess is the peaks N of Lower Tebay Lake. According to Park Services Peter "was lead guide for Ultima-Thule Lodge", part of the Tebay Lodge operations family. He was reportedly not guiding when the accident occurred. Paul Claus, owner of Ultima Thule and a well-known Alaska bush pilot, was able to land his single-engine, turbine Otter aircraft near the scene after the accident, reach Inglis and determine that he was dead.
