October 29, 2024 - Hunting Fatality at Nakwasina Sound

Nakwasina Sound, Baranof Island,

Tad Fujioka, 50, was located in the woods off Nakwasina Sound, apparently mauled to death by a bear, after being reported overdue from a hunting trip. He had already killed a deer which the bear(s) had fed on by the time searchers came across it. ADN Article Alaska Troopers Report
