March 4, 2025 - Skiing Fatality at Girdwood

Girdwood, Twentymile River,

David Linder, 39, of Florida; Charles Eppard, 39, of Montana; and Jeremy Leif, 38, of Minnesota were all buried in a massive avalanche while heliskiing, initial avalanche transceiver readings had them buried under 40-100ft of snow. Avalanche warnings were issued as “considerable” in the area prior to the incident. ADN article, Star Tribune article
