March 6, 1898 - Boating Fatality at East Channel
C. A. Andrews, second engineer of a steamer, J. C. Barr L. H. Lacey, riveter and titter; Father and son J. C. Doerr and Peter Doerr, of St. Louis. drowned while crossing from Unalaska to Dutch harbor, and in a squall their small boat capsized. The boat was found the next day by the cutter Bear.
