May 22, 2008 - Fatality at Denali
Tatsuro Yamada, 27, and Yuto Inoue, 24, both of Tokyo, Japan. Going off tracks from their last camp it was presumed they reached around 19,000ff on Cassin Ridge. Neither the climbers nor any gear was spotted on or near the route. No evidence of a fall or disturbed snow was seen either. A year later their bodies were found while searching for the body of a doctor. It appears they died crossing Cassin Ridge. They were about 800ft off their planed route along the ridge. It appeared they fell while descending the ridge.
