Allison Sayer first came to Alaska in 1998 for an internship in Homer. She reluctantly finished college on the East Coast but soon returned to Alaska for good. Since then, she has worked throughout the state as a guide, a scientist, an educator, a cook, and a fisherman. She is currently based in the mountains north of Valdez.
