Golden Eagle in Detail.

Golden eagles are large birds with a wingspan of up to seven and a half feet and can weigh up to 15 pounds. Their colors range from dark to golden brown mixed with white to tan coloring along the rump, legs, shoulders and neck.

Golden eagles may live solitary or in pairs. They are also know to hunt in pairs, each playing a distinct role. One will ehxaust the prey in chase while the other comes in to finish the kill. Golden eagles can eat up to nine pounds in a single meal.

They've been known to live up to 30 years in the wild.

Golden eagles can be found near grasslands and forest and most coastal places south of the Bering Sea.
