Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea) are a non-native species in Alaska. Most are between 30-50 feet when mature.

Habitat & Range

Balsam Fir have been found around the Big Lake area outside of Anchorage. In 1968 around 100 trees were planted on a woods road. In 1975 another 100 or so were planted in the area. Most of spring of the firs are found within 50 feet of their parent trees.
