HistoryLocal name reported by US@C&GS in 1908. This island was called "Isla (or Ysla) de San Angel" by Don Ignacio Arteaga about August 1, 1779, "after El Santo Angel celebrated in Tortosa August 2" (Wagner, 1937, p. 496).
