HistoryMining supply town established in 1887 when N. L. Mcquesten located a trading post here (Kitchener, 1915, p. 187). So named because the village was thought to be on the Arctic Circle. The Circle post office was established in 1896. Its population was 144 in 1910; 96 in 1920; 50 in 1930; 98 in 1939; and 83 in 1950.
