12 mi. SW of village of Port Moller, Bristol Bay Low. 20 miles long and 5 miles wide.

History
Named about 1890 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) for Captain Edward Perry Herendeen of Survey schooner Yukon, who first explored and sketched the bay in 1881.
