Valdez Glacier Shuttle Cruise in Detail.

Overview

The Valdez Glacier Shuttle Cruise tour is designed to get you out to see the face of Valdez Glacier. By 2017 the face of Valdez Glacier was difficult to see from Glacier View Park. By summer 2019 it had receded around the point and out of view. Since then, we are constantly being asked by people "How do I see the glacier?" Some people are on too tight a schedule, not interested in a tour, or our tours are all booked. So, this year we're introducing the Valdez Glacier Shuttle Cruise.

This tour is 1 hour long, this is not a private tour unless you are reserving the "Private Cruise" varitation. You will travel down the lake at a calm pace, passing icebergs along the route to the glacier. You will head out to the face of Valdez Glacier. Expect to get roughly 300ft from the face of the glacier as the glacier is still actively calving. Ultimately it is up to the captain and safety conditions to determine proximity to the face.

This is an inland lake. There are no whales, dolphins or sea otters on this tour. You do have a chance of seeing mountain goats or bears.

This tour begins at Valdez Glacier Lake. Park at Glacier View Park and proceed down to the lake where you will see the red and white boat. There your captain will have you sign safety waivers and give you a safety briefing.

This is not a day cruise, and it's not a drop-off shuttle. It's a shuttle to go see the face of the glacier on a Sea-Doo Switch Cruise.

We can carry up to 6 passengers, with a load capacity of 1,250 lbs. For everyone's safety we will need to ask weights when taking reservations.

This tour has the rare occasion of having to be cancelled due to icebergs blocking a route out to the glacier, or high winds create a safety concern.

The shuttle schedule can vary depending on custom requests for the day. However, our typical shuttle departures will be 10:30 am, 12 (noon), 1:30pm, and 3pm.

Reservations must be made in advance. Please double check your reservation time before heading out to the lake.
