December 9, 1990 - Walking Fatality at Point Lay
Carl Stalker was killed by a polar bear, while he was walking with his girlfriend in the early morning. Confronted by the bear, they split up. An hour later a search party led by the girlfriend found that the polar bear was sleeping nearby and had eaten about half the victim's body.
