prospectors' name reported by Wright (1904, pl. 2), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). was called by its Indian name Teltakatschkahin Creek or Jeltakatschkahin by Krause (1883, map). U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), spelled it Teltakhatskahin. the native name Yeltakaska, and in 1952, C. E. Robertson, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), reported the full name as Yealthkaklatselahini.
