About

2 mi N of Liberator Ridge and 40 mi NNE of Desperation Lake, Arctic Slope.

History

So named by personnel of the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 4 explorations in the 1940's, because the lake ice was used for landing a converted B-24 long range bomber which was called "Liberator" by the British during World War II.
