On the W side of Settler Cove near mouth of Kizhuyak Bay, at the N end of Kodiak Island, 18 mi. NW of Kodiak.

History
The village was built in 1964 by the Lions International for the persons of Afognak, displaced by the March 27, 1964, earthquake that destoyed most of their village.
