Name translated from the Russian "Z(aliv) Bobrovyy," meaning "sea otter," published in 1847 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1379, and shown as "Otter Bay" on an 1890 U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) chart. This feature has not been positively identified.
