at head of Golovnin Bay, 39 mi. E of Solomon, Seward Peninsula High. 9 miles long.

History

Reported as "Zund Golovina" or "Golovnina Sound" in 1842-44 by Lieutenant L. A. Zagoskin, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). The generic "Sound" was used until 1937. See Golovnin Bay.
