About
Located in Young Bay, north coast of Admiralty Island, 0.8 km (0.5 mi) southwest of Point Young and 16 km (10 mi) southwest of Juneau; Alexander Archipelago.

History
Named "Auke Bay" by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN), in 1868 after a subdivision of the Tlingit Indians living there. Another Auke Bay, 19.3 km (12 mi) to the north, Board on Geographic Names (BGN) changed the name to Admiralty Cove in 1917.
