History

named in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). "Os(trov) Sv(ataya) Lazarya," or "Saint Lazarus Island", he also called it "Os(trov) Mysovskoy," meaning "Cape Island." Captain George Dixon, called it "Robin Island."
