    Getting There

Twentyseven Mile Glacier is located about 30 miles out of Valdez, 2.5 miles south of Worthington Glacier. There is a small pull-off on the side of the highway where you can hike up the hillside about .75 miles to the glacier.

There is no set trail up to the glacier it's make your way up the hill. You cross the pipeline about half way to the glacier.

Named in 1960 by H. W. Coulter, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), "because the glacier is about twentyseven miles up the Richardson Highway from Valdez."

Twentyseven Mile Glacier is a cool hanging glacier, which is not too difficult to reach at the base. For those less adventurous it still looks good from the highway.
